Jacob Rathe

Jacob started road racing seriously at age 14 and before long he was earning medals at national championships and racing in europe with the US National Team. At age 20 he turned professional with the Chipotle Development Team, and went on to race for the World Tour team Garmin-Sharp in 2012-2013 and Jelly Belly Cycling from 2014-2018. Career highlights include 3rd place at the U23 Paris-Roubaix (2011), winning a stage at the Tour of Portugal (2011), and 3rd place at the US PRO National Road Race Championships (2018).

Jacob’s experience with physical therapy started in 2013 when he began experiencing terrible pain in his left leg, what would later be diagnosed as Iliac Artery Endofibrosis; a narrowing of the Iliac Artery in the hip region, which required surgery. PT was a constant necessity coming back from the operation. Through these struggles he gained an obsession with functional movement on and off the bike.

When not at Endurance he can be found on a bike any time of the year, and nordic skiing and ski mountaineering in the winter and spring. He also coaches competitive cyclists, and is a co-creator of the OTTOLOCK cinch lock.   In 2019 he will be focusing on gravel races, as well as some road and mountain bike events for OTTOLOCK Adventure Squad.
