Josh is the newest bike fit and exercise specialist at Endurance PDX. He has a degree in Outdoor Education and is currently pursuing a degree in Exercise Physiology. He has a wide professional background in Strength and Conditioning, nutrition and fitting in the cycling industry.
After leaving High School in Ohio Josh spent too many years slaving away in kitchens all over North America. A career change brought him to Alaska where he became a mountaineering guide and instructor in Denali National Park. While doing this Josh was able to further his interest in Strength and Conditioning, working at training facilities and gaining certification in the industry specializing in non traditional athletes.
Josh started cycling seriously during his off seasons from guiding while living in Boston, MA. He quickly fell in love with Cyclocross and endurance XC mountain. Seeking to combine his love for proper movement and bikes Josh got into fitting with the goal of optimizing performance in the saddle on an individual level. He has attended the Serotta International Cycling Institute, Trek Precision Fit, and Specialized BG.
Outside of the clinic Josh is an avid member of the cycling community working part time for a local shop as well as racing in the mud or in circles. He is also a strength and conditioning coach for Lake Oswego High School working exclusively with the downhill ski team. You can catch him up on the mountain grabbing turns of his own most days of the winter.
Josh has certifications from the National Strength and Conditioning Association, Strong First Kettlebell, Mountain Athlete, USA Weightlifting and Functional Movement Systems.
